Swat Operation

According to different sources, it is learnt that more than one million people would be leaving swat and surrounding areas in view of the army operation which is being carried out against the extremist groups.

I fully support that these groups should be eradicated at any cost. But Regardless of the outcome and nature of this operation, these are trying times for the sufferers, who had to leave their homes in order to make it to safe places (though we don’t know which place can be considered safe).

The arrangement of camps and resources for the evacuates is not satisfactory. I don’t know why, but I feel that Media, specifically electronic media is not being able to bring the true picture of the sufferings of these innocent people. They are the one who are considered as great hosts when people from all parts of our country visit the northern areas. Now they aer queuing up in camps to find a bowl of food, following is the link to a pic I found in today’s JANG.

That picture held me for quite a while. I just can’t imagine that people of the country are not aware of what exactly is going on. Media has probably their own limitations because of the situation on ground.

A column by Mr. Irfan Siddiqui is an eye opener for all of us

Please wake up and help the fellow countrymen.

May Allah forgive our sins and make Pakistan strong and independent in true sense, and give us able leadership who is capable of handling challenges in the right way.

 Long Live Pakistan.

 Bye
